As someone who was lucky enough to spend just about every one of my summers on Nantucket growing up, suffice to say, I was thrilled when Townpool Nantucket opened a pop-up shop at Faneuil Hall for the Christmas rush. For those unfamiliar with Townpool, besides an absolutely killer Instagram, Townpool is a small clothing and lifestyle shop that opened on Old South Wharf in Nantucket last season, showcasing up and coming brands like Chubbies, Tucker Blair, Kiel James Patrick, Mahi Gold, and Faherty Brand. They’ve taken up residence in the small “green-house” right next to Faneuil Hall Marketplace – it’s a hard spot to miss.
When I stopped by last week, I got to talk with my buddy Sean Dew, the co-founder of Townpool, he was super excited about the new storefront, “We’re really just trying to take Nantucket to Boston for the month of December”, and man o’ man, did they achieve their goal. The Faneuil Hall bubble screams Nantucket from wall to wall, fully stocked with beautiful antique furniture (all for sale), colorful flannels from Faherty Brand, Smathers and Branson needlepoint accessories, classic ties and retro visors from Collared Greens, waxed cotton weekender bags from Blue Claw, and gross-grain ribbon belts and sunglasses straps from one of my favorite brands, Knot Belt Company.
If you have a few minutes this December, add some Island Christmas spirit to your holiday shopping and stop by and check it out – just make sure you’re wearing your needlepoint belt.
