Earlier this year, Boast USA approached me to shoot their new S/S 2014 line. Apparently they dug JP’s stellar modeling moves from our photo-shoot together highlighting the brand last year. Known for their signature Japanese maple leaf emblazoned on the left pocket area of their shirts, Boast has been a staple on tennis courts for years.
While the brand caters to both men and women, their marketing is definitely skewed in the dude direction. They look to define what they call the “irreverent gentleman.” Essentially, the guy that is looking to enjoy the better things in life with a certain casual coolness to what he does. Think paper-bagging a few beers on the train with his friends or trespassing on the beach after hours for a bonfire. Generally just favoring a good time over sticking to the rules.
For this shoot I gathered a few super-professional models (aka my friends), for a jaunt around the beach town of Beverly Farms, MA. I quickly learned it’s easy to take great photos when your team is basically just having an awesome time with a few friends in front of the camera. Having Sean, our main model, in an awesome pair of Randolph Engineering sunglasses also really helped. These photos were used through various initiatives by Boast over the course of the year and are finally making their way to my site (just in time for winter, I know).
Big thanks to Gabi for her styling of the women and editing of the photos. Thank you also to Jordan, Micah, Rachel and Sean for their dashing good looks and modeling expertise. Finally, thanks to the random lady outside of Half Baked that lent us her dog (Daisy!) for an awesome photo.
