Burberry model. Heart-breaker. Leading man. Eddie Redmayne burst onto the scene this year out of seemingly nowhere. Along the way he managed to pick up a little something called an Oscar for an impressive portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. Following the wrap of the film set, Eddie was quoted as saying, "Stephen Hawking is just effortlessly cool. He has this kind of shambolic confidence to him. I describe it as a "Lord of Misrule" quality - he's got a great sense of mischief." Sounds like a all-round standup guy to us.
Aside from his acting chops and cheekbones that could cut glass, Eddie brings to the red carpet and high-streets a modern take on traditional British style: finely tailored tuxedos, shawl-neck sweaters, tweed blazers. He's slowly becoming a regular on GQ's weekly "best dressed" round-ups.
I've got the sense that there's lots of quality acting to come from this guy - we look forward to seeing him for years to come (in finely tailored suits, of course).
For years I’ve only known Glen O’Brien has GQ’s eponymous Style Guy – dishing out sartorial advice to the masses that generally boils down to “do what you feel is right for you but do it well.” Accompanied by some fantastic, yet slightly abstract, artwork, Glen’s advice has informed thousands of young men to aspire to be better dressed and better suited to tackle the intricacies of modern chivalry.
